Grand Slam Baseball
Video game for PC, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn
As my first project in the video game industry, I applied my experience developing graphics rendering and modelling software on MacDraft to developing a proprietary 3D World Builder tool in 1994 for use in all 3D Video Games produced by Virgin Interactive Entertainment.
Upon completing the 3D World Builder, I became a core member of the team that developed and shipped GrandSlam Baseball on the PlayStation®, PC (DirectX, Direct3D), and Sega Saturn® platforms simultaneously. I wrote the AI driven pitching, batting, running, fielding, pickling, and player selection logic for NPCs and the 3D camera positioning logic. I created a graphically scripted expert system enabling designers to implement all of the color commentary and implemented a statistically driven system for simulating scores and stats for parallel games in a baseball series.
